Work / Case study

JobZone

A DMV career-fair company with two decades of hiring events got a modern platform to match: website, employer tools, mobile apps, email, ads, and video, all from one studio.

The challenge

JobZone has connected DMV employers with job seekers at in-person career fairs for two decades: veterans, cleared professionals, alumni, career changers, and working professionals. By its own published numbers, that's 25,000+ job seekers served and 500+ employer partners. The business ran on relationships; the online side needed to catch up, from the website to booth sales to event promotion.

What I built

  • Website. A rebuilt, mobile-first site for job seekers and employers, with jobs, companies, and the event schedule in front.
  • Employer tools. Company accounts, a booth-credit shop (1 credit = 1 booth at 1 fair), one-click fair registration, and a curated DMV job board.
  • Mobile apps. iOS and Android apps, linked from the site.
  • Email & SMS. Campaigns moved onto a platform JobZone doesn't rent by the month. That platform became Go Bananas.
  • Paid ads & video. Per-fair campaigns on Facebook and LinkedIn, with commercial stills and end cards built from JobZone's real events and real job listings.

The commercial

JobZone fall career-fair commercial, 38 seconds. It ran as the realistic-style Facebook ad for the fall fairs.

How it's owned

JobZone's website and brand are JobZone's. The email platform built for JobZone became a shared build: JobZone kept its data and brand, and the product is now offered to other businesses too.
